May 16, Travel Day 88, Statue of Liberty!

We traveled 8 hours and 8 minutes from Staten Island to Half Moon Bay Marina in Westchester, NY.   We traveled through the New York Harbor and past the Statue of Liberty!  It was such a breathtaking experience to be there!  Our buddy boat Darlin Lea took our picture for us!

Half Moon Bay Marina was a great place to stay.  We had close access for train, airport and car rental.  We chose this marina because of its proximity to the Westchester Airport.  Zach and Nora were coming to visit here with plans to “back track” to NYC.  MaryLou was also planning a visit here and would travel with us up the Hudson to Albany!  We rented a car and were able to pick up our guests and to explore the area!  Places of interest in the area included the Croton Gorge and Dam, Bear Mountain State Park, Storm King Art Center, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, West Point Museum, Culinary Institute of America, FDR Library and home and many more !

We celebrated Mike’s 70th Birthday with lunch out in Peekskill for BBQ with Chris and Laura and a trip to Bear Mountain Park…all absolutely beautiful and enjoyable!!  Happy Birthday Mike!
