July 20, travel Day 125, Ojibway Bay

We traveled 9.8 NM or 1 hour and 50 minutes to Ojibway Bay, Canada Parks Dock.  50 islands make up the National Park in Eastern Georgian Bay from Honey Harbour to twelve Mile Bay and are part of the famous 30,000 islands, the world’s largest freshwater archipelago.  Beausoleil island is a large island in the park, historically it was  known as the resting place and stopover before the long journey home for the Aboriginal trappers who traded with the Europeans in Penetanguishene.  We stayed in Ojibway Bay.  From here we hiked inland to Fairy lake and Goblin Lake.  We were able to hike to Frying Pan Bay, Chimney Bay and Goblin Bay.  This is truly an enchanted, beautiful place.
