WE traveled 25.5 NM, 3 hours and 45 minutes to Bustard Island, harbour -west. We were the only boat at the anchorage! The area had a lot of underground rocks and we stayed in the channel. We used a Mediterranean style stern anchor tie in addition to our bow anchor to keep the boat from swinging into the rocks. We watched for wildlife, no bears, lots of loons!
A few years ago a bear had learned that he could swim out and get on boats, attracted by the trash cans. Unfortunately, we were told that the curious bear had been put down. I would hate to wake to a bear on board!!
