April 14, Travel Day 73, St. Mary’s, MA

We traveled across the Chesapeake from Somer’s Cove Marina in Crisfield, MA. to Pagen Point anchorage near St. Mary’s, MA.  It took 5 hours and 36 minutes.  We did have 2 foot seas on the beam for about 2 hours…a little nauseating!  Once we got closer to the Potomac it did get smoother.  St. Mary’s has a historic colonial area and also has a private state college, St. Mary’s, which competes with ivy league universities.  Graduates often go on to work on Capitol Hill.  We took the dinghy over to the college boat dock and explored the area!

No Agenda was anchored and we went to St. Mary’s in the dinghy!Below are pictures of historic colonial St. Mary’s, St. Mary’s College, Episcopal church, replica of the Maryland Dove (late 17th century trading ship), and college rowing team.
