August 2 and 3/Blind River/Drummond (Day 137 & 138)

We traveled from Eagle Island Anchorage to Blind River Marina.  It was a bit windy and choppy and storms were expected later in the day.  The trip took 4 hours and 26 minutes and we went 31.9 NM.  The marina was a very nice facility with a museum and art gallery.  There were a few restaurants in the town which was about a 2 mile bike ride.  We did go into town to use our remaining 40$ Canadian!

We had drinks in the evening with fellow loopers George and Tracy on “Done Saving”.

We left Blind River Marina on August 3 to get to Drummond Island.  The weather was overcast and the waves were 2-3 foot.  Storms were coming later in the day so we traveled early.  Done Saving traveled with us to Drummond Island.

About an hour into the trip we got a radio call from Done Saving that they had lost an engine. It ended up being caused by one of their lines getting caught in the prop.  Since it was rough in the channel we slipped behind an island and anchored, Done Saving rafted or tied to our boat.  Mike was able to dive under Done Saving to remove the entangled rope.  It was a bit scary as storms were approaching and we were close to jutting rocks.  Mike, George and Tracy removed the rope, we all pulled up anchor and continued on our journey to Drummond Island

Back in the USA!

We crossed the border from Ontario to the United States about one hour prior to arriving at Drummond Island.  To re-enter the country by pleasure craft you have to use a phone app called CBP ROAM.  Fortunately it went smoothly and we were officially back in the USA.

Out to dinner with George and Tracy
