January 11-16. 2023

January 16, Happy Birthday to our daughter in law, Ann!!!

Our friend Steph Gremminger helped me add a page to the blog, it is called the “Travel Log Maps”.  It shows all of the maps and our navigation information since embarking on his big adventure!  Thanks to Steph for generosity with her time and talents!

Please check it out!

We arrived at West Palm Beach Marina on January 12, 2023 and stayed until January 15, 2023.  West Palm Beach is absolutely beautiful!  We were the smallest boat at the marina.  The owner of Amway’s yacht was docked at our marina!  We did have visitors from Ste. Genevieve, Mary and Joe Schilly and really enjoyed the afternoon having lunch and sight seeing!  Mary and Joe took us to Jupiter and we saw the Roger Dean Stadium where the St. Louis Cardinals have spring training!  It was nice to see folks from home!

We left beautiful North Palm Beach on Sunday morning.  Thankfully the winds were light and we managed to get out of our slip and onto the ICW without any problem.  We had about a 5 hour journey to travel to our next stop, Stuart, Florida.  We were greeted on the dock and threw our lines to Jim and Patty Rossman!  They are the couple we purchased No Agenda from.  Needless to say Jim had to do an inspection! (We passed!!!). It was really nice visiting with the Rossman’s and having dinner out in town down Stuart.  I really like Stuart!  We are right on the River Walk, close to the town , museums, restaurants, etc..

We did get to see the world’s most powerful rocket blast off!  It was reported to be on a secret mission for the US Space Force!  It blasted off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 5:56 ET.   Spectacular!

The Banyan tree pictured above is in down town Stuart.  These trees have aerial roots which sprout from the branches and eventually reach the soil!  This adaptation allows the tree to survive hurricanes, it is deeply rooted!  Stuart is known as the “Sailfish Capitol” of the world.

I have really enjoyed watching boat names.  Lots of boats have virtuous names, like Fortitude, Gratitude and Prudence!  I liked this colorful one called Happy!  Some of my favorites have been “In to Bait” (intubate), “Tally Ho”, “Serendipity”, “Serenity”, “Second Wind”, “Adagio”, “No Rush”, “Aquaholic”, “Irish Wake”, “At Last”, “Blue Moon”, and I kid you not: “Cirrhosis on the River”!  I’ll keep watching!!
