We traveled 5.8 NM, 1 hour and 4 minutes to Killarney Mountain Lodge. This was a beautiful setting. We met Bill and Margie for lunch at the “World Famous” Herbert Fisheries. Margie and Bill went on to an anchorage and Mike and I stayed at the Lodge Marina. It was time for provisioning, laundry, boat washing and relaxing. The lodge had a heated pool, 4 restaurants and was near the town.
The lodge has a sculpture of a canoe paddle, we happened to meet the artist, a cool guy named Mike Ranta, he also builds canoes and has the record for solo canoe paddling from the east coast of Canada to the West coast in one season. He was a really interesting guy, wearing a birch bark hat.
