Paul Uding, Mike’s younger brother was Mike’s first mate for the journey from Fort Meyers to Mobile. They traveled north to Cabbage Key. It rained that day and they had cheeseburgers in paradise all to themselves! The Old House restaurant on Cabbage Key was the inspiration for Jimmy Buffet’s playful lyrics! From Cabbage Key they went north to Tampa Bay for an anchorage, then Cedar Key, Steinhatchee, Carrabelle, Destin and finally Dog River Marina.
