October 8, Travel Day 156 Peoria

We traveled 7 hours and 35 minutes to get to Peoria, Illinois.  We stayed at the Ivy Yacht Club.  Our flotilla had one lock to navigate with a very long wait.  Mike and I tied to a barge while we waited for the lock to be available.  All 16 boats were able to get in the lock.  We arrived at Ivy Club about 6 pm.  The yacht club had a pot luck dinner for all of us.  Flotilla 2 gave Mike a nice card and a stack of cash for leading them through the locks and narrow, shallow river.  Mike gave the cash to Bill for safe keeping and we plan to use it at Grafton for drinks for everyone till it runs out.  Thank you Flotilla 2!

Mike handed over the reins to Jenny and Danny on “The Other Woman” and they will lead the group onward.  we are just 3 days away from completing our loop and crossing our wake!!!

  1. I can easily picture where you two are at now. We’ve crossed the river there at Peoria lots of times. Congratulations on being so close to finishing your amazing journey. I’m sure most of your friends are like us, deeply in awe of your skill, spirit, and sense of adventure. Thanks for sharing your trip with us through pictures and words. I’m going to miss following you. May your last few days be good ones and may your return to the “regular” world be smooth.
