We woke to a chilly fog covered day.  I used the chamois to dry the boat while Mike cooked breakfast.    The sun burned through the fog about 8 am and we set out from Green Turtle Bay in Grand Rivers, Kentucky headed to Paris Landing State Park Marina, Tennessee.  It was a 5 hour trip down the Tennessee River, this section runs right through Kentucky Lake.  It was a glorious crisp morning!  Glad I bought some sweat pants!

We are here at Paris Landing to attend the Great Loop Cruisers Association Fall Rendezvous.  This is a convention for individuals doing the loop or interested in doing the loop.  I’m impressed with the organization  of this event, complete with an app!  Classes include lectures regarding navigation, marine electronics, anchorages and lots of information regarding side trips such as cruising the Bahamas.  There will be exhibits, Ship’s Store and other sponsored events.  It’s not all serious, a daily event is the Looper Crawl, this entails touring other loop boats and Happy Hour!

Mike and I had time to settle in, we rode our folding bikes around the park, the Lodge is absolutely beautiful.  The marina is packed full of looper boats and it has been fun walking around looking at other individuals boats and meeting people.  There is a real sense of comradery here and a buzz of  anticipation!
