We traveled 49.4 NM from Southaven Municipal Marina to Washington Park Municipal Marina in Michigan City. We had planned to spend several nights in South Haven and then move to St. Joseph, Michigan for a few days, but the predicted winds and waves on Lake Michigan were going to be fierce after September 6. We decided to move on to Hammond, Indiana while we had calmer waters. The Corp Of Engineers did not plan to open the locks below Joliet before October 1 and we planned to use this time to go home and check on our house and fly out to Walla Walla, Washington and spend time with Zachary, Angela and our grand children, Nora Jo, Claire and Lucas.
